FLWC's The Big Latch On 2017

ABOUT US

The Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization committed to bringing awareness to the importance of breastfeeding in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Our group is comprised of community health care workers, nurses, doctors and community members who dedicate their time to ensure that every breastfeeding mother is supported, educated and empowered. We provide peer to peer resources, education and peer to peer support for mothers and families who are breastfeeding or providing breast milk to their little ones.

OUR HISTORY

In 2006, a group of community workers gathered to find ways to support breastfeeding women in the surrounding Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties of Florida. Their goal was to develop more effective ways to educate the public and front line workers on the importance of breastfeeding. In 2007, we moved to formalize our professional status with a name change and an affiliation with the Healthy Start Coalition of Pasco County. Originally known as the Pasco Hernando Breastfeeding Task Force, we have expanded to now include Florida's West Coast. As of May 2017, we are now known as the Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force is to promote, protect and support breastfeeding efforts in the Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
