COMMUNITY CORNER

The Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force partners with the Florida Department of Health and other community organizations in providing free breastfeeding support groups and events to mothers in the community. As a non profit organization, we also host events throughout the year such as the Big Latch On and participate in community outreach efforts and conferences related to breastfeeding support, promotion and protection. To stay updated on the latest news and community events, please sign up for our newsletter and check our community calendar on our website. 

Pasco, Hernando and Citrus county offer breastfeeding support classes weekly. These classes are offered free of charge to the community.

The Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force is proud to partner with The Florida Department of Health in Pasco, Hernando & Citrus County in providing breastfeeding support groups. The Pasco  County Health Department holds a weekly mom to mom group for breastfeeding and mothering support. This support group is run by trained breastfeeding Peer Counselors, Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC), and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants in the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program through the health department. The classes are free and children are welcome.

 

The WIC Program also offers infant feeding classes.

Mom & Baby Night Out Group (Hernando County)

Thursdays

The Mom to Mom Breastfeeding Support Group is Free and open to the public. Mom, baby and family or friends are welcome to attend.  The group provides lactation support by breastfeeding peer counselors, Certified Lactation Counselors, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.  Different topics discussed each week and monthly guest speakers. Topics include: Latch support, milk supply, returning to work/school and pumping, growth spurts, tips for childcare providers, babywearing, infant CPR, car seat safety, money saving tips, and more! La Leche League (Citrus County)

The La Leche League of Citrus County hosts a weekly  breastfeeding support group for local moms. 

If you have breastfeeding questions, you are welcome to post them to their Facebook wall for other parents to answer. Or, if your question is more specific and urgent please private message La Leche League of Citrus County or

We are happy to help any nursing parent on their journey.
